What It's Like Working with a Wellness Coach with Blue Fox Wellness Founder Amanda Martin
Wondering what it's like to work with a wellness coach? How about how to make sure your wellness coach is qualified? Today's guest, Amanda Martin, helps answer these questions and takes us behind the scenes of a wellness coaching session. The owner of Blue Fox Wellness, Amanda Martin is a wellness coach with national certifications in both Wellness Coaching and Group Exercise Instruction. She has a Master’s Degree in Health Administration from the University of Michigan and has worked in health clinics, hospitals and for a national healthcare consulting company. During our conversation you'll learn about the special technique of motivational interviewing that allows wellness coaches like Amanda to help you make positive changes in your life without prescribing the same plan to each wellness coaching client. You'll also find out about the "blue" in Blue Fox Wellness and how you can lead a happier, healthier life even if you don't focus on exercise as your first action step. A big part of wellness and leading a healthier life is finding a supportive community. We close our conversation by talking about one of theses communities that Amanda has created - a brunch club for female entrepreneurs. The first one happens at the end of the month. Learn more about it in the show notes.
About Amanda Martin
Amanda Martin is the owner of Blue Fox Wellness. She has her Master’s Degree in Health Administration from the University of Michigan and national certifications in both Wellness Coaching and Group Exercise Instruction. Amanda has worked in health clinics, hospitals and for a national healthcare consulting company. She is a triathlete and currently training for a Half-Ironman. But she hasn’t always been this way. In fact, at one point she was really struggling. She felt out of control with her weight, work-life balance, stress – and subsequently her entire life! After years of feeling lost and alone, consuming foods she thought were healthy without ever seeing results and stumbling through the “latest and greatest” fitness fad, she finally found what she had been missing all along. And guess what? It’s not a magic pill or 30-day detox. It’s not killing yourself in the gym doing something you hate. It’s not even obsessing over calories. The truth is that it takes self-love, a supportive community and knowledgeable coach who can guide you through YOUR OWN journey. Visit her website to learn more about how she can help you through yours.
