About Keep the Esplanade Clean with President Ann Dalkey
Struggling to find your fitness motivation? Getting moving while giving back to your local community can be a great way to make new friends while exercising. Today's guest, Ann Dalkey, is the President of Keep the Esplanade Beautiful, a nonprofit organization that organizes monthly beach clean ups (first Saturday sweeps), a great way to get in a walk while making a difference. Ann stops by to share more about the organization and how you can get involved. She also talks about the endangered El Segundo blue butterfly, a species whose habitat includes parts of Redondo Beach and also benefits from the work of Keep the Esplanade Beautiful. About Ann Dalkey
Following 32 years working as a marine biologist, Ann took the opportunity to retire and accepted a position at the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy working on habitat restoration. Now fully retired, Ann volunteers for a number of projects, including
president for Keep the Esplanade Beautiful. This is a lovely resource for Redondo Beach and visitors which is used extensively for all types of outdoor exercise.
