Let’s face it, if you’re a mom who likes to run, it can be challenging to fit it all in. You may have a job, take care of the kids, cook home cooked meals and stay fit and run a few times a week to stay in shape. How can you do it all? Don’t worry, we created an overview with running tips for moms for you! Check out the list of the women we featured on the Fit Fifteen. They are inspiring examples of mothers who have found ways to fit running and fitness into their busy lives.
Lauren launched The Free Mama Movement to show working moms that they don’t have to choose between family and financial stability. With this powerful movement, she empowers women to make choices that don’t feel like compromises. This year she started her fitness journey after baby number three. Not only did it have a huge impact on her health and her energy, but she’s also better at running her business, and she feels like she has become an even better mom because of it.
Training for a marathon has never been an easy task, imagine working full-time and having a toddler at home. Alyssa Houtby has done it and in the most inspiring way. She started running when her daughter was three years old and ran her first marathon in 3:09. And she’s now training to OTQ (Olympic Trial Qualify)! To top it all off, we talk to her in episode 61 about her inspiring weight loss journey.
Though Olympian Deena Kastor is not a beginner anymore, her positive attitude to running and marathons is sure to inspire every aspiring runner. We chat about how exercising during pregnancy wasn’t what she expected mentally or physically and how’s she’s made adjustments as she’s progressed from her 1st to 2nd trimesters. Elyse also shares the pregnancy workouts she’s been loving and some of the tips she’s learned from her prenatal classes

When we talk about inspiring running stories, the story of Mark and Lissett Lineberry is certainly high on the list. Advised to up their cardio to overcome a weight loss plateau the couple completed their 1st race together, the Life Time Fitness Commitment Day 5K, on January 1, 2013, in an hour’s time. Since then, they have run over 150 races from 5Ks to full marathons and have lost over 100 pounds between them. Lissett is now paying it forward as an RRCA Certified Running Coach.
