What is Pilates?
Lately, I’ve been getting asked the question, “What is Pilates?” quite frequently. While the class format was pretty popular when I started in fitness back in 2007 (I taught at least 14 Mat Pilates classes a week!), it’s not found as frequently in gyms these days. However, it’s a wonderful format to include in your weekly fitness routine no matter what your personal goals might be.
So if it’s no longer as popular in gyms, why am I being asked about it? The reason I’ve been getting asked about Pilates a lot lately is that I decided to kick off my Football Widows’ Workout Series with some free Mat Pilates Classes for beginners. So while I think I give a good overview of the format in this week’s episode of Tighten + Tone Tuesday, I strongly encourage you to see what Pilates is like for yourself by taking a class this week. All classes are free to try so you have nothing to lose 🙂
