Places to Run in Newport, RI
Over the last four weeks, I've shared several of my favorite running routes in Newport, Rhode Island. In case you missed them, here's a quick review:
Week 1: The Newport Cliff Walk
This out and back route takes you 3-4 miles along the famous Newport Cliff Walk. Enjoy ocean and mansion views as you log your miles.
I recommend enjoying this route in the early morning to avoid slow-moving tourist crowds! For the full post, more tips, and pictures, head HERE.
Week 2: Gooseberry Beach, Ocean Drive, Bellevue Avenue
A one-way run I often use for the practical purpose of finding a parking place for the family car, this route takes you to Gooseberry Beach via Bellevue and Ocean Drive. Three miles one way or six miles out and back. Highly recommended during the off season! Check out the route and more HERE.
Week 3: Mill Street Inn, Cliff Walk, Bellevue, Thames
This five-mile run has it all! Start at the Mill Street Inn, head down the Cliff Walk for the backyards of the famous mansions, head down Bellevue to see the front yards of these estates, then run down Thames Street for some window shopping. You'll also see where J.F.K.
Week 4: Easton's Beach and Sachuest Beach Runs
Love running on the beach? Newport's First (Easton's) and Second (Sachuest) Beaches are both flat and long enough to let you log a few miles.
Check out THIS post for a run along each beach.
